The Rules

Ten things this brand lives by. Ten things this brand will not break, even when breaking them would be easier.

We're posting them because we want them to be public. A rule that lives only in a founder's head is not a rule. A rule that customers can read and hold us to is.

If we ever break one of these, you have the right to tell us about it. Reply to any email. DM the brand. Hand-write a letter. We'll listen.

— Purp, founder

01 — DROP EVERY OTHER THURSDAY AT NOON ET.

The calendar is the contract. Customers can plan around us. Skipping a drop because we're not "ready" is the easiest way to lose the only thing that makes us different from every other POD brand. The cadence is the brand. We hold the cadence.

Exceptions: Thanksgiving week and Christmas Eve are skipped. Customers are with family. Brands don't get to ask for your attention on those days.

02 — NO RESTOCKS, EXCEPT WHEN ANNOUNCED.

If a drop sells out, it's gone. If we restock, we tell you in advance and call it a restock — never pretend it's a fresh drop. We don't manufacture artificial scarcity. We also don't manufacture artificial abundance. The drop number is the truth of when something existed.

03 — NO SITEWIDE DISCOUNTS. EVER.

We don't do "20% off everything." We don't do "Black Friday." We don't do "Cyber Monday." The brand goes up in price over time, not down. If you want to save money on Zensation, buy the bundle (already discounted by design) or wait for the next drop's intro pricing on a new SKU.

The discount discipline is the moat. If we cave once, the entire brand is on sale forever after.

04 — THE PHRASE GOES BIG. THE MARK GOES SMALL.

Every garment has the phrase visible from across the room and the hourglass mark visible only when someone looks closely. The phrase tells you what to do. The mark tells you who's saying it. We never reverse them. We never let the mark dominate the chest. The mark is a signature, not a logo.

05 — REAL PEOPLE, NOT MODELS.

Every photo on this website is either a flat product shot or a real customer who sent us their photo. We will never hire a model. We will never use stock photography. If you want to see your community wearing Zensation, look at /seen-on. Every face there is real.

06 — WE WRITE EVERY WORD.

No GPT-generated product copy. No outsourced description writing. Every product description, every email, every Journal essay, every Crashout Diary entry is written by Purp at his desk. If it sounds like a brand wrote it, we wrote it wrong.

This rule will be the first one tested at scale. We're holding it anyway.

07 — WE SHIP THE FIRST 100 SOMETHING EXTRA.

Every Zensation product line will have a "first 100" program. The first 100 customers of a Drop get something handmade — a handwritten note, a free sticker pack, a numbered zine, an invite to a closed event. We do this because the first 100 customers built the brand. We will not forget that.

After the first 100, you still get free shipping and the product. But the first 100 will always be acknowledged.

08 — WE DON'T USE THE WORD "SUSTAINABLE."

Print-on-demand has lower waste than traditional fast fashion. That's the truth. It's not zero waste. Most apparel words like "sustainable" and "eco-friendly" are marketing lies told by brands that fly samples around the world. We make things on demand. We tell you that. We don't pretend we're saving the planet.

If we ever earn the right to use a real environmental claim — verified, audited, defensible — we'll use it then. Until then we stay quiet.

09 — IF SOMETHING BREAKS, WE FIX IT.

Wrong size. Wrong color. Wrong print quality. Mail it back, we send a new one, no questions asked. There is no warranty. There is no policy you have to read. There is a brand that wants you to wear our stuff for two years.

The only exception: if you tell us the order didn't arrive but the tracking shows it did, we'll ask you to file with the carrier. That's not us being mean. That's us not being naive.

10 — THE BRAND IS NOT THE FOUNDER. THE BRAND IS THE PHRASE.

Purp is the person who runs this brand. Purp will get sick, take days off, have moments where he's not the right person to speak. The brand has to be bigger than him for the brand to survive.

The brand is the phrase. Not the founder, not the logo, not the merchandise. The phrase. "LOCK THE FUCK IN." "DON'T GIVE UP." "CRASHOUT SZN." Those words exist in your life whether we go away tomorrow or not.

If Zensation disappears, the phrases stay. That's the rule that matters most.

Don't give up.

These rules are version 1.0. They will be updated as the brand grows. When we change a rule, we'll tell you why.
